How did amphibious excavators come about


How it came about.
An amphibious excavator is designed to work on water or soggy ground. The idea came about in the Netherlands some years ago. Unlike many other countries, the Netherlands is mostly inundated with water. In fact most of its coastal region is actually below sea level. In the inland area, some of the land is water logged and many parts of the land is actually made up of marsh land. The Dutch found it difficult to work on the land with convention equipments and they certainly have a lot of problem when they send in the excavators. They had this problem of getting their excavators bogged down on soft ground. Imagine the problem of getting another machine to pull out the stuck excavator. Sometime, both machines get stuck!
