“AT WHAT COST?” by Sam Tumblin

Why in a short burst
Angry words is worst
That seeps out first
Often unrehearsed
Causing a chain effect
No matter the dialect
Trying keep chin erect
Inner self respect
But is dignity saved
Take the morbid graved
Stubborn coined forbade
Now thought you brave
Sometimes pride swallowed
Instead self worth wallowed
Sometimes good to follow
Could be a soothing aloe
Why in a short burst
Angry words is worst
That seeps out first
Often unrehearsed
Causing a chain effect
No matter the dialect
Trying keep chin erect
Inner self respect
morbid graved
At what cost?
